ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I created this account when I was living in Cairo, Egypt, to help out people who were coming through the city and wanted some help. I'll be back in Cairo next year, so I'll be looking for surfers again then.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've neither surfed or hosted before, but met a lot of people doing both during my travels in the middle east and in Cairo, so I thought I should get in on the action.

Música, películas y libros

I don't see movies, which keeps from from participating in a lot of conversations, but I'd much rather be having those conversations than spending two hours in silence in front of my TV.
I try to read a lot, but spend more of my time with newspapers than books these days, though I've been trying to read ethnographies of communities in Latin America recently.
We can probably find common ground on music. No country or metal, but house is growing on me in this country. Still, hip-hop, jazz, and independent rock -- or whatever we're calling the bands that all the white kids in college listen to these days -- dominate my headphones.
