ABOUT ME

I am constantly inspired by people who I meet on my travels. I make best friends on my journey to somewhere new and unknown. To wander, to explore, to get lost, to find and to discover make me happy in life. Even on the days I am on the road longing home, I find sense of belonging. The best travel experiences happen when I end up in a place I did not plan to go and meet somebody I did not set out to look for. "A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving". I have the best time when I did not have time to plan. I enjoy a good balance of culture and nature. Hiking, photography, wandering through a little town, eating out and learning from locals are my favorite things to do. I am a software engineer by profession. I have a structured work schedule. Each year, I try to take about 3 weeks of vacation time to travel and to spend time with family and friends.

When I am not traveling, I would love to show you around Chicago area. I have just started to put my profile together so I am very new. And due to my work and own traveling, I have not hosted anyone but I would love to in the future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was wondering through Assistens Kirkegård in Copenhagen. I had a conversation with a high school student Sebastian who guided me to Hans Christian Anderson's resting place. He taught me how to say H.C. Anderson in Danish and he told me that I should go to Tivoli Garden and to take a ride on the "Flying suites cases", the ride he still enjoys. I don't forget that afternoon, how I saw kindness and happiness in his eyes and how quietly proud he was for the writer.

Teach: English, Japanese, Chinese
Learn: Languages, dance, music, cooking, culture and anything that is interesting.
Share: local knowledge, travel experience and tips, how to eat organic and eat healthy, knowledge about sustainability, I am all for labeling GMO and I hope people know about the truth how GMO is created.
