ABOUT ME

I am extremely enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about the world, people and my life! My life in Melbourne is rich with a group of incredible close family and friends and brilliant opportunities in all my areas of passion, like music, comedy and dentistry. I play trumpet and piano in several great bands here, including a Cumbia reggae band 'Madre Monte' and 'The Red Brigade' brass marching band a folk/fusion band 'Lucid Blue'. Composing and collaborating is very satisfying-the stuff of life!. Working as a dentist is a lovely way to interact with and help people although sitting all day is not ideal. I love to be active in nature whenever possible, especially with friends. Learning and growing every day keep me inspired. Delving into the effects of our culture and social histories in shaping our personalities and relationships is fascinating; there are so many unseen subtle effects at work. I enjoy challenges, especially in the physical, intellectual and emotional realms. I love bringing laughter into an interaction and playing. I am sensitive and quite shy in certain areas, yet very outgoing socially and can find common ground with anyone. I cant wait to travel again for 7 weeks during July and August 2011!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am about to travel in Aug-Sept 2011 and would love to meet people along the way, not so much for a couch, more for a drink or walk and travel advice.

Way too much to list! Eclectic collections of books and music. Musical favouriites include Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Billy Joel, Coldplay, Keane, Dire Straits, Dar Williams and female vocalists, Nitin Sawhney, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt etc, The Cat Empire and DOCH Gypsy Funk (both from Melbourne) some musicals like Chess, fusion bands in general, latin artists like Celia Cruz, Eastern European folk like Vardos and thousands more...
Books- enjoy personal development writing, fiction, classics, biographies, humourous writing especially. Love reading beautifully written stories where writer crafts amazing sentences. Always reading a couple of things at once,have been missing this while travelling
Movies; dont get to them often enough! I love Australian and world movies with subtitles-remember them more than Hollywood offerings. I love strong female heroins like Meagan Follows,Kate Winslett, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster etc. Not into violence or horror. I enjoy exploring the way music from soundtracks elicits emotions and what chord progressions and sounds achieve various effects. I enjoy movies about lives of people in contrasting cultures with an interesing true story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to choose from, especially recently while travelling virtually a daily affair! One of many¨; I hiked to an underground river in a stunning hidden natural cave in the mountains of Cuba and swam there in torchlight with a friend, giving each other a massage in the water!

Teach, Learn, Share

Piano and trumpet musical knowledge, First aid knowledge. Knowledge about putting on a show in festivals eg;comedy and fringe in Australia. Knowledge about the head and neck and mouth as a dentist-lots to share!Understanding of Jewish community in Australia. I want to learn to play the drumkit and hand drumming. I want to learn about musical composition and more about comedy writing, circus skills and self defence skills and more...
