À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Finding My Way
ABOUT ME
I am originally from Mississippi, though I've lived in a variety of places since then. I moved to Washington, DC, 2 years ago and worked as a mediator in the environmental and urban planning field. After about a year and a half, I decided to go travel the world for a bit, so I headed to SE Asia and ended up staying for six months. I taught English in Thailand for three months, then traveled around Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia the rest of the time. Now I'm back in Washington, DC, and looking to settle down again.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to continually grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and professionally. Traveling and trying new things helps me learn more about myself and learn where and how I fit in the world.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love this idea of couchsurfing. I first heard about it during my travels around Asia, and my friends encouraged me to try it once I got back to the States. I think it's a great way to rebuild a sense of community around the world and make awesome connections and friendships. I can't wait to be settled in my own apartment soon and start hosting fellow couchsurfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed once before during my brief time in the San Francisco Bay area. It was an amazing experience getting to know my host family. I don't think I could have asked for a better introduction to counchsurfing.
Centres d'intérêt
I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reading, learning about other cultures, hiking, biking, yoga, meditation, and so much more. I'm always up for trying new things.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My recent favorite books are Eat Pray Love, Tales of a Female Nomad, First They Killed My Father, The Alchemist, and anything by Maya Angelou. I would recommend any of these books to my fellow couchsurfers.
I don't necessarily have any top favorite movies, but I do have a favorite tv show when I am lucky enough to get to watch it: The Office is one of the most funny shows on tv in my opinion.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I am known as a pretty courageous, positive risk-taking person. When I first moved to DC two years ago, I moved without a job but actually found a great position within one week. I've traveled all over Thailand and around SE Asia as a single female, and I've had the best experiences learning and interacting with natives and fellow travelers. I continually challenge myself to try things that are outside my comfort zone, so the next item on this list is currently in the making.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I would be happy to share my expertise in conflict resolution, human trafficking/modern slavery, travel tips around Asia, and the basic information that I've learned about herbal healing.
I would be interested in learning more about anything. I'm always trying to discover and try new hobbies and develop new skills. I believe that when two people cross paths, there is something that each of them is meant to learn from one another.
