About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel as far and for as long as I can on my limited budget. We want to see as many places, meet as many people, and enjoy the culture of as many places as possible.
ABOUT ME
My name is Steve. A few years ago I made a spur of the moment decision to travel to Nepal. Since then I've been going with the flow going wherever the world takes me. I enjoy hanging out around a campfire playing guitar with fellow musicians or just playing for a group more than anything. I like to think of my self as being a friendly guy that will try anything new. What I've liked most about traveling is being introduced to new perspectives. I've lived in the Los Angeles area all my life and haven't had the chance to talk to many people from other countries. I like to see how similar we are all and hang out with big mixed groups of nationalities.
I hope to meet you during our travels.

PHILOSOPHY
I've updated this as time has gone on and I've grown. It's listed from most recent to when I first made my account.
2013
My philosophy about traveling:
I first started traveling when I had this idea that we all waste our lives in the same place, with the same people, dong the same things, year after year. That turned into an idea that life goes by too fast when you´re doing the same thing all the time. If you walk down to the end of your street to get a 6 pack of beer it may seem to take a long while the first time. but the second time you walk the same distance it feels like it took a shorter amount of time. This continues until the trip takes no time at all. The same is true with every aspect of our lives. If we do the same thing every day, life speeds up. We don´t notice anything anymore because we assume we´ve already seen everything we´re passing by. I love living, and want to live forever. I plan on spending the vast majority of my life traveling. I think by the time I´m old I´ll feel that I´ve lived a millennium.
2011
My philosophy is that we are meant to have as much fun with the time that we're given. You can be the richest man on Earth, but if you're not having fun, what's the point? Life has it's highs and lows but we have to see the bright side of that. Let the lows make the highs that much better, not the other way around.
No matter where you think we came from it's a great gift that we have to be living. Weather it was a god or a long series of odd events it seems to me that we beat the odds by existing. I try to remember often how great it is to be alive and have to opportunity to be writing this, and to have you read it. I hope to meet some of you so i can have the chance to discuss this with you further, but i think this is enough for now.....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I now finally have a couch to offer travelers!
I can host.
Soon I will have a guest room set up specifically for surfers.
I can't wait to give people an amazing experience in coming to Hanoi and visiting our home.
Back in 2011
I'm a new member to CS and am still getting the hang of it. So far my only involvement has been trying to find available couches. When I get back home I hope I can offer a couch to someone in LA. It'd be nice to get the opportunity to show someone around my city. I'd also love to help any other travelers in need. If you want a group to travel with let us know. It's nice to have a couple people to go around the world with. Some of the coolest people I've ever met, I met on this trip.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I have had only great experiences couchsurfing. Everyone I´ve met through CS has been great. I look forward to hosting when I return home to Los Angeles. This seems to be a great network of great people. I realized in south east asia that the people who travel are always the cool ones. The cruel hearted violent ones stay at home. I think the same is true with couchsurfing. It seems only kind interesting people decide to be a part of this. I hope that no one screws up my perfect record of only meeting wonderful people on couchsurfing. If you do not feel you match the above description, then don´t waste your time on couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently spent a night out on a beach in a dense fog. I walked out into the water till I could no longer see the shore. All that was visible was the waves. It was like being in a dream world. I stood there listening to the waves for some time.
It was a beautiful experience. Hard to put into words, it truly moved me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I play guitar and love teaching people how to do the same. I like history, I love taking in new knowledge, Anything that anyone has to offer that i don't know much about, i take. I love learning something new.
