ABOUT ME
I'm 33, and I'm a lot of things. I've got a great job and a great dog, and I don't mind getting well outside of my comfort zone - so I'd guess that makes me stable yet adventurous. I like people, but I'm told I come across as intimidating (I'm tall with a deep voice) but... I'm mostly harmless.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have friends who swear by CS, so I'm checking it out. I'm about to head out on a 5 week trip and hoping to make the best of it. Upon return, I've been thinking I'll make my couch/extra room available, but haven't had a chance to as of yet. That said, I've met people on my travels and opened my home to them later, and visa versa - pre CS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's a poem "upon looking into Chapman's Homer" that describes all that one might claim to define as awestruck. (eg back when translations of the classics were debated) I was caving in western australia, in a cave that had 6 previous recorded entries. There were clearly no boot prints or disturbances in many places; doing so carefully, the ranger and I were able to look into a cavern that had clearly never been observed before. Ever. And probably never will be again.
