Overview
About Me
Very busy graduate student trying to make time for travel and adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had great experiences that have been facilitated through this site. During a spell in Thailand, I found a community on this website and hosted surfers. Later, I spent a week surfing through Belgium, touring all the trappist breweries and meeting some excellent folks in the process.
Interests
Exploring new places (especially eating the food), connecting with new people, walking in the sunshine, extreme picnicking, minimizing my impact on the earth, sustainable design.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: According to Netflix I like quirky, critically-acclaimed comedies with a strong female lead.
Music: Mostly indie rock, with a bent towards indie Texas country and the grittier things.
Books: Speculative fiction and magical realism.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a horrible car accident in Australia that rendered my spine broken and intestine crushed on my 8th birthday.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Texas and Tex-Mex cooking, solar geometry and other random design things.
Learn: I would love to learn how to cook your favorite dish!
Share: Music, travel stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with my hosts what it is like to live in Texas. I am happy to cook a meal that is representative of my home if the ingredients are available. Generally, I make pretty good company, as does my partner Andy (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/wpennypacker).
