I am a Canadian teaching in Taiwan. I have been here for 2 years and love it. I just got back to Taiwan again after taking a year off to travel through Europe and Asia.

I was born and raised in Canada, but actually have Dutch citizenship as well. I moved around a lot so I have lived almost all across Canada. I was a teacher in Canada, but wanted to experience something different and packed a bag and flew to Taiwan to find a job -- best decision I've ever made haha.

I'm a pretty laid back person. Love meeting new people, experiencing new things and enjoying the little things in life as they come.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

In university, I had the opportunity to host a few people from all over the world. Most memorable being a girl from Czech Republic, a couple from Australia, three girls from Québec, a guy driving across Canada in a car without a window, and a girl from Slovakia who ended up staying with us for a week. I really enjoyed how it brought people I wouldn't normally have a chance to meet into my life.

Unfortunately, due to being a student, I wasn't able to travel and take advantage of the other side of Couchsurfing to meet local people while traveling, but now that I am traveling, I hope that I can.

Intereses

At any point, I probably wish I was rock climbing. I have been climbing whenever I can for the last 8 years and have totally fallen in love.

If I can't climb, I love getting outdoors in other ways: sports, hiking, biking, swimming, running -- basically anything. If I'm not outdoors, I sing, play guitar and love karaoke! I also am a large music fan (I was a karaoke/event DJ for 4 years), a big movie buff (over 1000 movies), and enjoy reading.

But greatest interest -- well, maybe except rock climbing -- is discovering my next big interest!

Música, películas y libros

Love many types of music, except country... Mostly find myself listening to classic rock/80s music, but I will get down with pop once in a while.
Just finished the Red Rising books and love them (highly recommend), also like Game of Thrones, Mistborn Trilogy, and many other mostly fantasy/sci-fi books.
Seen over 1000 movies... Love movies... My favourite, I think, is Inception. But hard to choose a favourite, I could do a top 50 maybe, but not now haha.

I like to think I'm a pretty easy-going, easy-to-get-along-with type of person and get along with anyone with a kind heart.
