About Me

Answer the questions in "MY HOME" to show you have read our profile, it’s next to the references tab at the top of the page ^^ read those too!! Cheers.

Welcome to the House of Tawatawa.

Fully furnished, 8-bedroom home nestled in the green hills of Wellington, next to the Tawatawa Reserve, with loads of mountain biking/hiking tracks. The bus stop is a 5-min walk. We love to play games, chat over drinks, go out, engage in sing-alongs, the occasional dance-off, and enjoy getting to know people from all corners of the earth.
NOTE: You will staying amongst my AirBnB customers, when a bed becomes available and it’s not booked, I will offer it to a couchsurfer for a maximum of three days. If your bed is booked through AirBnB you’ll be moved to another bed or the couch, I find this is a good way to keep a lively environment at House of Tawatawa, plus this is a fun way to meet new people.
Long-termers are Welcome!
You can book a bed on AirBnB if you intend on staying longer than 3 days.

There are plenty of people here with different interests and backgrounds.
We have a stupid amount of fun and love to travel – if you plan to travel New Zealand, you’ll likely find friends here keen to join (and some of us have cars!).

You’ll be staying on a quiet street right next to the Tawatawa Reserve, which features incredible 360 views of Wellington and the sea and heaps of biking/hiking tracks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I opened my door to travellers 5 years ago. Before New Zealand became a tourist destination, we kiwis were never exposed to different cultures. Hosting’s been an enlightening experience, to say the least. I love meeting people from all over the globe, listening to their stories, and learning about their culture. It’s been crazy fun and I’ve upgraded my home to be the perfect place for backpackers to meet and hang out. As a result, I have friends from all over the world, many of whom have hosted me in return when I go travelling.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, England, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Switzerland, Taiwan, United States
