Hey,

I'm Shaun, from Oxford in the UK.

At the end of last year, I made the decision to quit my job and go travelling. This was my first solo adventure and it has been an amazing experience which has changed the course of my life!

Recently, a friend introduced me to couchsurfing, which has been a great avenue to meet locals and like-minded travellers.

Although I have yet to stay with anyone via the app, through a mutual contact I did stay couchsurf one time in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which was a wonderful experience and something I would love to do again.

I am a big cycling fan, I love to play chess, try new food (I will eat anything), I like to visit speciality coffee shops and I enjoy craft beer.

I'd describe myself as easy-going, extroverted, and positive. As a guest, I can help you with English and coding (particularly Python), and hopefully I can entertain you with some funny stories from my travels.

If you can show me around your city, or advise me on places to visit, that would be great, as I am not always the best at doing research 😅
If you're only free in the evenings, I'd love to share a drink and chat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm giving myself more avenues to meet fellow travellers and local people. As much as I can appreciate some alone time, I love to meet new people, and having good company can really make a big difference to your impression of a place.

Interests

I enjoy road cycling and have been to see the Tour de France many times. In my free time I like to play chess, and prior to travelling I enjoyed playing video games. When I was younger I used to compete in a game called Halo.
