About Me

/// Prior to this, I have an existing CS account since 2013 with references (see this link: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/shauna-kehoe) however, the e-mail linked to the account was disabled and of course, I forgot my CS password so now the account is stuck with an unusable e-mail. I can still log on via FB but I had to make this account so I could actually get address details etc. If you need more proof that is me I would be happy to show you :) ///

My name is Shauna, I also use the stage-name 'Seána' as I think it looks more exotic PhD researcher living in Berlin. I moved to Berlin under the impression that I would move again however, I managed to land in a research position I am really in love with and for my performance art, it really only gained traction once I was in this city. I just had to stay.

In a nutshell: I am mostly energetic, I like travelling on trains the most bc I find them so romantic, I am a flâneur or a boulevardier, I think I am kind, and I aim to be as lovely as I possibly can. I would like to be remembered as a lovely person. I think it's nice. When I am stationary I draw and write poetry. I love yoga - not so much the zen kind, but like the pushing your body, contortion kind. I need circus and performance art to live happy. I am vegan, I hate cooking for myself, but I love cooking for others (check out the vegan chocolate cake I made in my photos). Any time spent walking from café to café or sharing a bottle of wine is time so very well spent and are one of the most memorable moments in my little life.
Of course there is a lot more I could share but let's meet instead! Do you prefer red wine or white? ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To make sure I don't shelter myself into some bourgeois hotel and to make sure I actually have human interaction when I travel. I almost always travel alone so some friends along the way would be great..Especially for my sanity.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like authors such as George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, H.P. Lovecraft and I love Irish poetry. I like Penguin Classics mostly.
My favourite books so far are 'Wild Swans', 'The Dubliners'..'Crime and Punishment'..'Dorian Gray'..Any book that makes me say 'fuck' aloud at any point that I am reading it is usually good with me.
I like reading poetry in Irish and simple books and plays in French. I am currently reading Edgar Snow's 'Red Star Over China', 'Ulysses' and 'Tortilla Flat' (I read several books at once).
As for music and movies, similar with this book situation, it's pretty difficult to just spit out 'favourites'. My MP3 is currently hosting some Leonard Cohen next to Death Grips next to Keaton Henson next to Kendrick Lamar next to ABBA. Wild! I am currently listening to BBC 'Always Like This' while I update my CS profile and will be seeing Cigarettes After Sex in May.

Movies? La Vie en Rose or anything French as I am still trying to become fluent..watched 'I Am Not Your Negro' a while back, that was good. 'Gaslight' from 1944 is a great one too. I don't really sit still for long so movies don't work well with me. I watched 'The Great Gatsby' in a kino in Nantes as I had read the book. That was memorable. It made me cry because I was a little day-drunk and I got dumped around then (give a girl a break!). I think Baz Luhrmann really did a sweet job on it :) or maybe I was just drunk..I'm not so sure now..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joined the circus, here are some links below with some personal videos and collaborative projects I have been involved in so far (which I think is probably the best way to see who I really am :)):

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently in the midst of establishing a performance art solo and collaborative project that I want to take on the road with me starting May, 2018 until around December. From that I think we could teach, learn, and share a lot with one another :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A laugh, a determined woman willing to walk to the ends of the earth with you just to find a decent cup of coffee, good times, bad advice, fashion advice, again bad advice, and my food (I'm not a big eater so I rarely finish everything on my plate or like I am a really weird eater..Like when I only have to cook for myself I really don't care but again, if I cook for you I want it to blow your mind!).
