ABOUT ME

I work and study at Oakland University. I'm a full time employee at the e-learning department where we work with faculty who teach online classes and students who take them. I also teach writing classes online. I like to play music and read and write and game in my spare time. I'm in a local band called Stroller Coaster, a sort of geek rock band. I like to catch local shows in the Detroit area. I have a high working level of French and have visited France four times so far. I'm also a member of the 501st, and have stormtrooper armor. They do different charity events but really it just gives me a chance to dress up as a stormtrooper.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a very positive person. I'm a firm believer that things are how you make them. If you complain a lot and have a negative outlook, you'll see the bad things in life and be miserable. I prefer to be more optimistic about things, and try to keep things in perspective.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live with my wife and we have two bedrooms and a few couches open and available. We're both friendly, open-minded people and have traveled around quite a bit. We heard about couch surfing in June 2013 and thought it would be fun to host people.

I love to read and write, mostly wild fiction stories. I'm in a punk rock band that is really more of a geek rock band called Stroller Coaster, and we play in the local area. I have stormtrooper armor and am a member of the 501st.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a terrible movie critic, as I love just about anything. I'm big into similar things in movies and books, action, fantasy, lots of adventure. A good character study can be fun if done well. As for music, I'm all over the board, mostly what could broadly be considered alternative.

I currently teach writing and programming, know French, and interesting in learning Spanish and perhaps some other languages.
