ABOUT ME

I left the British Army after 23 years four years ago now and my mission is to travel the world, gain the real knowledge and see the sites with the locals rather than from a book. To make new friends along the way and experience life.

PHILOSOPHY

I live each day as if it is my last as you never know what is around the corner. I believe people shouldn't lie as someone may just like the real you. I am a very laid back person in life and accept the things I cannot change, but change the things I cannot accept. Never judge a book by its cover and smile as it is free and makes people smile around you.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have been hosted. Noone has wanted to stay with me but then again I have lived in some dangerous places. CS for me is not about a free room. It is 2 way and I will only request or accept you if I feel we are both going to learn from the experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had a few couch surfing experiences so far and enjoyed them all so much.I will definately be using it more often now.From my experience though I have found that many people would rather surf than host which I find very annoying. I also find it rude that people do not reply to requests. I understand that I am not everyone's cup of tea but manners cost nothing. I would respect you more for a polite no and would not be upset or offended.If you have been a member for a while and never hosted then please pass my couch by. So that I know you have read my profile please tell me your most embarrassing moment when you request my couch.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a varied taste in music from classical to punk. I have just taken a big interest in Bluegrass music. Fave bands at the moment are kings of leon, killers but I can listen to most.
I don't have time to read as much any more and with the internet it makes it easier for me to research anything I want to know about. When I was young I would mainly read autobiographies, non fiction, atlases, dictionaries and anything that I could gain knowledge from.
I enjoy watching films from weepies to horror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen many amazing things on my travels and done many things also.Each one is different that I could not name any one that was special........Until now and that has been a week dirt bike riding with World Super-bike Champion Colin Edwards. My first horse ride on snowy mountains in Utah was amazing.Just back from Machu Picchu....Amazing

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very open minded and can get along with anyone. I can fit in to any situation from the Queens dinner party to a Hobo 's soup kitchen.
I would teach you anything you wanted to know. If I don't know the subject I would research it and learn it with you.
My mind is a sponge and I am always up for learning anything and everything.
