ABOUT ME

This profile is for myself and my wife Jess. We are Backpackers/explorers looking to take epic trips and work as little as possible.
Jess is working on a masters degree in Geography at San Francisco State and a National Park Ranger at Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park. Shawn is a full time artist and back country guide for Alpine Start Explorations.
We are inspired by taking on challenges that appear too big and encouraging others to do the same.

PHILOSOPHY

There is so much to learn from our experiences in life. The goal is to keep those experiences positive, for us and others, and have as much fun as possible in the process.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We host all those that want to stay in San Francisco but cannot find a place to stay. We have used and loved couch surfer in the past, and are looking forward to sharing cultures and experiences in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfing is the only way we could have explored Ireland. We had the best time staying in small towns and hanging out with amazing people.

More importantly, it has been a true pleasure getting to host people from other countries in our home. When possible, we love sharing our favorite places in the Bay Area!

We hiked the John Muir Trail in 2010 and haven't been the same since.
