About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring life, one day at a time
ABOUT ME
I love traveling--pick a place, make a plan, and go. Recently discovered how great it is to wear kilts--badass man skirts if you must. Now I wear them whenever I can locally. Served in the Peace Corps for awhile helping community development and loved it, which pushed me into grad school for public service. I'm a bit concerned about what goes into animal farms for meat and how it's industrialized, so I tend to eat vegetarian unless it's cruelty-free/organic. I can be a bit of a nerd--talking about anything from computers to zoology and love sharing random bits of knowledge. An octopus is one of my favorite animals.
Things I'd love to learn: SCUBA diving, sign and other languages, how to play my djembe better, and to help convince to kids in schools today that math and science is actually cool.
PHILOSOPHY
I live by my 3-M rule: Motivate, Mobilize, Materialize. In other words: think about it, build the momentum and tools to succeed, and then make it happen. I try to live by general Buddhist philosophies to help guide my other day-to-day choices, but I'm not devoutly religious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm brand new to CS. I've got two friends to both surf and host who have inspired me to try this out. After surfing a few times, I may start hosting too.

Anything Star Wars and most things sci-fi, fantasy, and fun--books or movies. Horror movies are a great night in. Believe it or not, but I also like textbooks on all sorts of subjects.
