Hi friends! My name is Shawnie. I'm a writer, teacher, and bartender currently living in Colorado, but am getting ready to wander Europe for 6 months starting in August. A little about me: I grew up in a very conservative place (Bakersfield, CA) and hit the door running when I was 17 years old. Since then, I've moved around a lot, meeting new people, seeing new places, and expanding my family. I am a writer, and my first book, the stove is off at home, just came out from Spuyten Duyvil Press in NYC. I am forever a student; I love learning and growing, which is why I love people/traveling so much. I am a pretty decent cook, and LOVE to eat. I would love to have a meal with you, if you have the time! Music and dancing are passions of mine; I'm always wanting to go see the local live band to dance off the day. Lastly, I'm a very friendly and personable human. I love to hear people's stories, and find something relatable between us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I stated above, I'm getting ready to wander around Europe for 6 months, and would like to be a part of the couch surfing community because of this. Not only to do the trip affordably, but also to meet friends around the world!
