About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ticking things off my bucket list

ABOUT ME

I am curious about people, places and ideas. I thrive on meeting and deeply connecting with people from different walks of life. Currently, I am living in the beautiful city of Cape Town, working at an Non-Governmental Organisation which assists refugees integrate into South Africa. The highlight of my life is food, for sure.

PHILOSOPHY

'whatever we think about, we bring about'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed through Turkey, Hungary and Indonesia. These trips have, quite honestly, been highlights of my life, and largely because of couchsurfing. Being a part of a community which emphasises values of profound kindness, giving, love, and anti-capitalism is quite special. Next up: Looking at hiking my way though Greece- Where should I go? Is March 2018 a bad time to do it? Any advice would be super welcomed.

Interests

people, social activism, exploring, reading, cooking, travelling, reading, ballet, the smell of rain and jasmine flowers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: pretty much anything by Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, Coen Brothers, or Wes Anderson
Books: Waaay too many to list (mostly non-fiction), but the all-time favourite is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon.
Music: anything that inspires foot-tapping (at the very least).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One? Just One? That's so tricky! I'd say:
- Hiking through the mountains of Croatia and Montenegro
and
- Motorbiking around Indonesia for a month
would be strong contestors.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a psychology graduate and have taken a number of subjects including Drama, History, Classical Studies, Anthropology, Gender studies. I love sharing my knowledge on these subjects, but most of all, welcome anyone to enhance my current understandings. That being said, I have much to learn about pretty much, everything.
I love to share winning (and failed) cooking endeavors, as well as memorable life stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Adventuring and exploring: both the external and internal worlds.
Listening and story sharing
....and South African chocolates of course

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Hungary, Indonesia, Montenegro, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Africa
