About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live light, Travel light, Spread the light, Be the light.

ABOUT ME

There's not much better to me than meeting new people and helping them out. I think you learn the most by meeting new people, especially from different walks of life. I love to host and cook and make people feel as comfortable as possible. I love art and expressions that relate us to each other and challenge our ways of thinking. I think that's the reason why we're all here, to be challenged, to learn and to love.

I'm a huge fan of music, seeing concerts, the theater and outreach. I love being in nature where we can get quite and sink in to the natural flow of things, and also love cities where magical moments happen between strangers. I've lived in NH, CT, NYC and now Los Angeles pursuing theater, teaching yoga and seeing where the path of life leads me and trying to follow that path the best I can, even though at times I may think I'm lost, sometimes just because you can't see the path doesn't mean you aren't walking it.

PHILOSOPHY

Life's to short to not wear silly hats and drive around in polka dotted cars.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't surfed myself too much because every time I mention it to my mother she gets much too nervous- It's a work in progress. However I absolutely love to host and show people around, or even have them show me around sometimes! It's always nice to see the place where I live in a new light. I participated a lot in college and loved every moment of it and hope to get back in the game soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CS has been a life changing experience and I wish I could participate more! I have such a busy schedule a lot of the time that I've wished I could spend more time with some of my surfers, but I have shared great moments with every single person I've met that I will never forget. I hope more good people find CS and stand up for its values.

Interests

I'm really into music- more listening to it than anything else, though sometimes I make attempts to do more. Theater is what I do which sometimes ties into outreach and am exploring that more each day. I love philosophy, nature, meditation and yoga and because of those loves I generally try to keep a clear head, but as Mae West once said, "I generally avoid temptation, unless I can't resist it."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drank all day on a beach in Plymouth MA and then explored my friends beach house which was all ours for her college graduation. Partook in some activities with some of the greatest friends I could ever hope for and when we were done enjoying all the multi-colored rooms of her house, we moved to the beach, sat around a fire, star gazed, made flaming bagel torches and watched the night slowly move behind us as the sun came up over the Atlantic Ocean.

National Guitar Workshop in CT 2 summers in a row, met some great people, and had an amazing time singing, playing, laughing, and throwing some light up Frisbee's.

I studied Shakespeare in Birmingham England a few years ago, which was amazing in itself and did a lot of traveling and met a lot of people. One trip in particular I went to the Lakes District of England stayed at a lovely B&b with my teddy bear and a bottle of Jack Daniels, took a tour bus everywhere I could and it was absolutely beautiful. My last morning I walked to Lake Windermere, sat in a park and realized that no one I have ever met outside of the UK had ever seen the serene view that I was seeing, and maybe they never would. This thought made me feel very humbled and lucky and also a little disheartened for those who don't want to see too much outside of their own back yard. This fueled my fire to want to travel everywhere I possibly can for sure.

Just visited Sedona, AZ for my birthday (May 2015) for 3 days and the experience was beyond words. I went by myself, met some great people, felt very in touch with nature which Sedona makes quite easy with all it's beauty, did some hiking and became an honorary Native American (What!?!?!)

Teach, Learn, Share

So far couch surfing has been an amazing experience! All of the surfers I've encountered as of now have been open, generous, talented and just plain fun. For me, it's been great having a new face break the routine we sometimes fall into. It's astounding at times the amount of people I encounter and don't talk to every day, so it's nice to be handed an opportunity to make the world seem a bit smaller.
