ABOUT ME

I grew up in New England, but moved to New York City (Greenwich Village) in 1963. I also lived in Puerto Rico, France, Washington, D.C., and was bicoastal NYC/California since 1987. MOVED TO COSTA RICA June 1, 2012. I love traveling the world, especially enjoying jazz festivals in Havana, Umbria, Edinburgh, and Newport RI. I get lots of free cruises in exchange for directing and teaching duplicate bridge. My favorite activities are reading, playing bridge, playing piano (badly, but with enthusiasm), dancing, classical/opera/chamber/jazz music, theater, and traveling. I consider myself a Cosmopolitan (see Kwame Anthony Appiah's book). I am divorced, have one grown son, and four beautiful grandchildren.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted more than 60 couch surfers and several house/cat sitters, but only had the opportunity to stay at a CS's home twice (this will hopefully change soon). Have met for wine or coffee with several CSers while traveling
