About Me

About myself, my friends call me crazy in a lovable way, so sorta fantastic weird. I enjoy having a cider and talking about history and interesting facts, playing football and Settlers of Catan.

I grew up on 3.5 acres of bushland on the outskirts of Brisbane, Australia. I spent my days barefoot building treehouses, bike riding and swimming.

I first travelled abroad at 16, self-finacing a volunteer/safari trip to Tanzania. I studied in Milano, Italy at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and travelled much of southern Europe as well as wonderful Turkey.

Matt and I have been travelling together for 3 years so are very self-sufficient, honest and sensible. A lot of people say 3 years travelling is a long time, we usually reply that we have just gotten started. As the lion King said; “there is more to see, than can ever be seen and more to do, than can ever be done”.

In New Zealand we went snowboarding in the Southern Alps, hiked the Great Walks, worked as scenic helicopter loaders in rainy Franz Josef Glacier. We drove our van (eddie) from the Bluff in the South Island to Cape Reinga at the tip of the North Island. We didn't plan on staying a year but we are in no rush.. the experience is more important to us.

We have motorbiked through Vietnam, Cambodia, Loas and Thailand for 6 months and visited many more countries in Asia. The roads where crazy, the people and food fantastic and the beaches beautiful.

We may be Aussies but we assure you we are not crazy party animals. We love movies, video games, cooking and reading a good book with a chai tea. We are non-smokers and like to explore the outdoors. We like to stay active; playing squash, football and any type of water sport.

I am a practicing artist, I draw, paint and sculpt monsters and characters for fantasy and sci-fi projects.
I like yoga, kung fu and football(soccer)and anything that gets my adrenaline going (rock climbing, absailing, shooting, skydiving, mountain biking and snowboarding... mostly.. etc, etc...)!

In recent years I have become facinated with anything historical and plan to start my second degree in the UK. I love to read about the little things; how people used to eat, how they made chairs or candles. All the human aspects of history factinate me.

... not all those who wonder are lost..
