About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make it back home to Portland, Oregon for the summer after a long hard winter in rural Michigan.
ABOUT ME
I've spent most of my adult life bouncing around countries and states, picking up life skills and making great friends. My last six summers were spent at a cooperative summer camp in Delton, Michigan where I found my bliss among the children, goats, and vegetables. Now it's time for a new adventure! I believe in all the nuanced forms of community, equality, beauty, and humor. I love to read, eat, cycle, play with young people, and make stick forts.
PHILOSOPHY
Kindness. Kindness can mean anything, depending on the situation. Fluency in kindness will be my life's work.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Community is the highest form of humanity, and I am here to support that. I evangelize about couch surfing to fellow travelers whenever it seems appropriate and welcome. I also strive to live the principles of couch surfing in my every day life: to be open and welcoming to people who are different than me and to find our similarities through conversation and shared adventure!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been with the couch surfing community since 2011 when I did a postgraduate stint around western Europe. I learned more from my hosts abroad than any tour guide or map. Since then I've surfed on the fly during short trips and with fellow couch surfing friends. I've met up with fellow couchsurfing travelers in cafes and parks, as well as a couple visitors on my own turf. But I've never had a place of my own to host.
