Aloha my name is Shearna, I am 19 years old and currently living in Australia on the Sunshine Coast, where i was born. I currently work at a health food factory that sells allergy free products giving me the experience of working with others and I have been a qualified baby sitter for last four years. I am an extremely social person who loves to be doing anything remotely exciting and venturous.

I am a young adventurous traveller, who loves to explore new places and cultures that I have not experienced before. I have travelled over seas to New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, Scotland, England and lived in Italy for over 3 months. I have met a numerous amount of international people in my travels who I have become close with and still keep in touch with.

I am an honest, creative, openminded person who has a sense of humour and is very down to earth. I enjoy meeting new people from all origins and plan to learn their languages, culture and ways. When I travel, I love to get the full experience by staying with the locals and seeing and enjoying all the local destinations and entertainment.

Living on acreage has made me a very pet friendly person, as I have grown up living with a number of pets such as our cows, dogs, turtles, guinea pigs, geese, chickens and birds.

Having a big house I have hosted a numerous amount of people including friends from other countries and new people. I showed them the parts of Queensland and showed them the ropes of Australia including the Aussie foods and customs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on CS as I thought this would be an excellent way of meeting other travellers and the locals of the area of travel. I have heard wonderful things of this as my sister has CS in the UK and loved the experience and formed a great bond with the host.

I hope to gain experiences from my stay and connect with my host who I hope can teach me a lot about my stay and show me their favourite destinations and their most favourite travel stories along with having lots of fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My most amazing life experience so far has been living in Italy for over 3 months. By travelling there by myself i connected with many people who i became very close with and still talk to on a daily basis. I learnt so much from the families I stayed with including improving on my Italian tremendously. Over the 3 months I saw so many wonderful places such as the Amalfi Coast in Sorento, the ruins in Pompeii, The beautiful ancient city of Positano, the balcony of Romeo and Juliet in Verona and of coarse the leaning tower in Pisa and the colosseum in Rome, I enjoyed the canals of Venezia and the glass jewels and leather heaven of Firenze.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach my host/ hostess the Australian culture, along with my knowledge of the places I have stayed, visited and lived through out my travels.

I would love to learn the native tongue and local ways in Hawaii, the stories of the islands and their histories, I would love to hear all about my host/hostess travels, adventures and stories.

I love to share my experiences with everyone I can, I hope to have a positive impact on people making the decision to stay abroad and or to host international travellers.
