About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a self-diagnosed life-a-holic, sometimes a work-a-holic, and most assuredly a fun-a-holic. I've had some adventures. I love getting lost. I think everyone has a story worth hearing. I listen to way too many podcasts about people and their stories. I can be awkward; I like to call it quirky.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I met a man in Spain who was couch surfing long-term, found it intriguing and signed up, but I didn't participate much for a long time. I met other surfers in my area, and eventually got a fairly nice couch myself to share. It's since played host to some lovely people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I think most people would agree that creating connections with others is an overall quaint and fascinating process. People from all different walks of life, levels of social skill, and amounts of intrigue in the world can still find commonalities. There's something to appreciate and learn from in everyone. The world is small, and the human experience can be universally understood. I think that's both humbling and mystifying, and like that I'm reminded of that when I am enjoying the company of someone new.
It's hard to fully understand people, harder to be understood, and confusing to get to know yourself. Identifying with and bonding with someone new, in any small manner, is actually a uniquely validating experience.
I'm rarely home enough to host, but my couch is certainly open when I am.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read about consumer behavior, psychology, evolutionary biology, and such. And short fiction about awkward characters. I listen to podcasts while I work, on news, design, world events and people.
