I'm a History of Art student in my final year at the University of Leeds. I love to get outdoors, especially when its windy as I am a very keen windsurfer. I also love to cook and try new foods.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and the idea of staying with a local appeals a lot more to me than just staying in a hostel. I want to get to know different people and cultures and i've found that the best way to understand different cultures is to experience it through the lens of a local.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big music fan and I am also a complete vinyl addict. I collect all sorts of stuff including folk, jazz, soul, disco, house, techno, jungle and much more. My favourite modern musician is Justin Vernon (Bon Iver). The music he makes is always innovative and diverse and incorporates so many influences. The way he merges more traditional folk with weird electronics has been a huge inspiration for me when I try to write songs.

Some of my favourite movies include: Amelie, City of God and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

I am currently reading Just Kids by Patti Smith.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled through Central Asia last summer which began as a motorbike trip across Mongolia. Originally the plan was to motorbike back to the UK but unfortunately my brother and I were not able to take the bikes across the Russian border, at which point we took to hitch hiking, trekking and public transport back to Europe through a number of countries including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
