About Me
CURRENT MISSION - To reconnect with kids and grandkids in Aus after a few years overseas travelling
ABOUT ME
We have 4 children, two sons grown up and married, one travelling (Canada) and a daughter who just found the first place of her own. Our current home, shared with our son, his wife and their 4 kids, is our 60th since we married, so we are definitely nomads...but love it. We all enjoy our freedom tremendously and are a very happy family.
We like to look forwards rather than back, believing the best is always ahead. We are optimistic people, love to laugh, be hospitable, help people whenever we can. Like to meet new friends as well as old ones ; )
PHILOSOPHY
That life is good, the majority of people are kind and honest and that to live in total freedom is the ultimate gift of God. That the cup is always half full, not half empty....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Mostly hosting so far - but looking forward to more travelling in the future
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One short stay in Iceland, and meeting a new friend through CS in Cambodia, we were hosted brilliantly on our first night in Forida. Otherwise it's been part of our lifestyle for as long as we can remember - more often as hosts than as guests!
Interests
We all read heaps and really are interested in all sorts of things - don't really have hobbies or obsessions as such....
- traveling
Music, Movies, and Books
SO much - really hard to choose just a few...
Movies: Loads of comedy movies (inc. The Castle and The Dish...), The Fifth Element,
Music: Passenger, The Choir, Jazz, Classical
Books: Writings of Brennan Manning and Baxter Kruger, Jane Austen, poems of Steve Turner, poetry in general....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the Falkland Islands - just sitting amongst thousands of penguins who had absolutely no fear of me - just curiosity.
Teach, Learn, Share
YES!!! This is great! Will think properly about it and come back here. I wrote that a couple of years ago - I think the big challenge for couchsurfing now is to keep the foundational values in the face of such rapid, exponential growth! That we are all here to give, as well as to receive...
