About Me

I'm an Indian girl doing Bachelors in Computer Science in Hong Kong currently on exchange to Sweden, who plans to travel far and wide and measure the world by her footsteps. "She has nothing, in short, to recommend her, but being an excellent walker. I shall never forget her appearance this morning. She really looked almost wild.''-about Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and prejudice. I wouldn't mind this description. :P I love talking to all kinds of people and am fascinated by their experiences and stories they have to share.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me travel becomes interesting when it becomes personal, when someone tells me a story associated with a place, when someone shares their dearest memory about the place and that is not possible by walking around with a map in your face or following a tour guide. The people of the place make the place and I want to experience places though the people. That's why I'm on couchsurfing.

Interests

Anything and everything.
I have tried my hand at calligraphy, dance (Indian classical and jazz), music (majorly I love Bollywood music :P). Moreover, I love trekking, running, swimming, art (crafts, DIYs) and watching movies and most importantly, eating all kinds of foods (vegetarian tho; I'm a Jain who believes in non violence)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music!!! I love fusion music. Recent favourite: this channel on YouTube called The Indian Jam! They fuse Indian instrumental music with the music of my favorite tvshows and movies' music like Harry Potter, Game of thrones, Sherlock etc. Do check them out!

Movies: Ok might seem childish, but animated movies are just my happy place (favourite Kungfu Panda!) Moreover I like scifis like star wars (obviously) and The Martian and fantasy movies like Harry Potter, Lord of the rings etc.

TV shows: Pride and prejudice (BBC Series),
Doctor Who, Friends
Books: These books have made me feel pain, love, hope and hopelessness.
Favorites: A thousand Spendid Suns -Khalled Hosseini, Are you afraid of the dark? -Sidney Sheldon, You can heal your life-Louise L Hay (one of the most important books I have ever read), Pride and Prejudice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think being independent and loving your own company is one of the most important things one needs to learn. One amazing thing I have done is that, I taught a friend how to enjoy her own company and made her a more confident person. This is one of things I'm proud of doing in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you music, yoga, indian dance ( Bharatnatyam ), meditation, computer science, art, crafts. I believe the history of the place makes it interesting, so a church is way cooler than a skyscraper because of its heritage and hence I think every piece of architecture should have historical points that describe what events has it witnessed, how many generations have lived there etc. Hence I would love to meet people who are keen about sharing interesting stories from their culture (folklore, legends, regal history etc.) I would also love to meet people who love to cook or those who like outdoor activities like hiking trekking etc. Or those who love disney movies! :D

What I Can Share with Hosts
