Hello!

I'm a Harry Potter-loving Canadian from Vancouver currently living in London, UK. With an affinity for all things old, I love learning about ancient civilizations (Egypt is my favourite), and European history (English, especially) from the 1600-1800s. In accordance with this is my love for classical literature, specifically, pieces such as Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Not to make myself sound too much like a granny, however, I also love having dance-parties (whether at home or on the dance floor, it does not matter) and am a firm believer in the theory that Beyoncé is actually Jesus. Having grown up Vancouver amidst mountains and the Pacific ocean, I also love being outdoors, and enjoying beautiful views from the tops of mountains. Overall, I am a happy camper who likes to laugh, and being around people who can make me chuckle is what I enjoy most!

I've traveled to a few countries over the past 24 years, but plan on doing a lot more adventuring during the next 2 due to the fact that I've recently acquired a Working Holiday Visa for the UK and am now living in London. As such, I plan on making my European rounds to see impressive sites, eat delicious food, and meet unique people. That all said, I also don't have a trust-fund, and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to travel on a budget, and meet great people along the way!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music: I'm a huge fan of R&B and Hip Hop, but also like artists such as Hozier, Oh Wonder, Regina Spektor, Adele and Lianne La Havas. I love listening to Neo-soul, and have recently developed a liking for Alternative Pop, so you can commonly find me listening to either Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Banks or Lolawolf. As a rule of thumb, if it can be danced to, chances are I will enjoy listening to it!

Movies: While Disney's Lion King is my all-time favourite movie, I mostly enjoy watching Fantasy/Adventure films that focus on medieval fiction and magic (in addition to being a huge Harry Potter nerd, I also love the Lord of the Rings trilogy).

Books: Similar to my taste in movies, I love books from the Fantasy/Adventure genre. I grew up obsessed with series such as Harry Potter, Inkheart, and Children of the Lamp, and in my early adulthood, my love for fantasy fiction is expressed through interest in books such as the Game of Thrones trilogy, classic tales about vampires (I'm not talking about Twilight, but about the original Dracula by Bram Stoker), and anything containing mythological creatures.

Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef! While a good portion of the Reef has already died, there were pockets of immense beauty that I was lucky enough to swim above. If you get the chance to visit Australia, definitely visit the Reef!

I love sharing travel experiences with people, and learning about the adventures of others. Considering how terrible of a cook I am as well, I love learning how to create new dishes from various cultures!
