I will attend a summer of few days from 1/9 to 6/9, I hope I could learn more about the culture parts besides my study. It would be nice if you could offer me a place to stay.

June-July/2024:
During summer, I am now studying a summer school in France on nano-fabrication for a month. However, my friend can’t find a place to rent in Stockholm and I need to rent my dormitory to him instead. Since he can’t change his air ticket and needs to pack many belonging to back to his country, he needs to use my room till the end of July. As his friend, to help him as much as I can, I need to find a find a place for myself. It is so bad that I just know there is a platform like this, then I could tell him to find a place to before he buy the ticket. I appreciate if someone do me a favour and welcome me to your home for few days. And I will be home the end of July, I’m willing to be a tour guide or a travel buddy if you come to Sweden.

Brief About Me:
I am a Master’s student majoring in engineering physics (quantum technology) with a passion for science, reading, singing, performing, eating and traveling. The rest you will know if we meet.

Detailed About Me:
First of all, as a Hong Konger, I have an English name called Alan. I would describe myself as an ambivert, I could be very communicative or talkative in some context, while I could be quite quiet sometimes. So I could be an "interesting person” but not all the time. :) I see myself as an authentic person, living on the same planet with you all and want to make some real friends on this platform. :)))

I am an easy-going person to interact with. I want to have a simple and happy life. I don’t have a strong desire for material. I like nature, and I am curious how nature makes sense to us. I wonder how we humans understand each other and make art pieces to express our emotions. I keep seeking why we exist and the meaning of life.

I love to make friends with people and I met most of my foreign friends from my university dormitory. We share our multi-culture during parties, culture nights, and karaoke. I hope to meet more people all over the world on this platform.

I am now studying Engineering Physics in Stockholm, and working in a tech startup about participatory urban planning via AR. Though my study and work do not have a strong connection (technically possibly correlated), I enjoy what I am studying and working.

My Hobbies
I’m not only a science guy, at the same time, but I also like art. I like playing chess, board games, and video games. I love all sorts of music, classical, jazz, soul, country, pop, rock, rap. I feel that we humans are so complex, we need various types of music to express our feelings. I have watched nearly half of the top 250 movies ranked in iMDB. These movies inspire me a lot about humanity, characters, conflicts and value. Black Mirror, The Boys, WestWorld are must watch! I like acting and watching comedy acting, like mime from Marceau, Mr. Bean, Jim Carey. For stand-up comedy, I like Jimmy O yang. His words are relatable to me as an Asian. I like singing, and I have a karaoke software on my laptop. It’s great if you like to sing together.

The Place I lived - Hong Kong
To share some history about Hong Kong food, one of my favorite foods would be Kart noodles. It was created in the poor district in the 1950s after the Second World War. Since it is convenient and affordable to many HK citizens, now it has become a popular Cantonese food across all social classes, and you can customize your food options. It is Hong Kong style ramen! I drink nearly anything, water (still/sparkling), juice, beer, wine, but no soft drinking.

Expectation to the host:
I expect to have a place for me to sleep and go to shower.I’m happy to chat with you before I get into your home, so that we could know more about each other. I am happy if you have time to have meal, drink or something together so that I can learn more about the place you live.

Expectation to me:
I also understand the importance of respecting house rules and privacy, I have been co-living with other people before, and we have a very good relationship and positive rapport to each other. I am happy and be willing to cook meal, help with chores, I’ll treat it like a home.

About Food and Drink Preference
I do not think I have an Asian stomach, I seldom take rice as my main dish. I like to eat whatever is authentic from the place I live, so I learn more about why the food tastes this way and how the food relates to people's lives. So I know how to cook Swedish, Italian, Hong Kong-style, Japanese food, but please do not expect they are very tasteful. :P

I want to travel and explore the vibrance of other regions. I want to stay at a place for a short period of time to learn more about life in Europe or other exotic countries.

I love the idea of traveling to other countries and meeting the locals by staying at their home for the authentic, immersive experience. In return, the traveler can share their experience in where they live and travel. It is a very valuable cultural exchange, which is a big contrast to nowadays capitalist traveling marketing industries to promote shopping tours and hotel+plane packages as a standardized traveling experience to foreigners. I want to obtain something different from the mainstream.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I can do 15 pull ups in a row. I ran a half-marathon when I was 17. It requires discipline, health-care, nutrients and perseverance.

I sang in opera 2 times, being an actor on the stage 3 times, without a proper qualification in performing art. I sang in a cruise before. I’ve got a round applause. If you are interested in something, you can master it to certain extend.

I visited an organisation for homeless people before. They are all normal people and very talkative. Not all of them are homeless because of no asset, but it may because of the family issues, drug addiction, gambling, etc. I served but I feel I am being served. I know more about the structural problems of the society.

I’m still alive! I mean my mind and my body are still living. It is not easy, coz the society could lead go into the coffin while we’re still breathing. I believe in living life to the fullest! One thing I'm grateful for is my constant curiosity and love for learning. There's so much to discover, and I'm excited to see what adventures await!
