About Me
Hi all, My name is Shelby
I'm half Australian and half Mauritian. I was born in Australia and grew up in Cairns before moving to the Gold Coast.
Im a second year student studying bachelor of primary education at Southern Cross University. I'm also 2nd in charge at a bag shop called Colette and I run a little business on the side selling cacti in quirky pots!
I live on the Gold Coast and love the sweet sunshine and smell of the ocean. You could say Im a bit of a beach bum! I'm also learning to surf, I've stood up a few times. I like learning new things and would love to experience your culture and learn from you too!
I'm a free flowing individual and easy to get along with:)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm currently on my gap year from Uni, I study Bachelor of Primary school teaching and absolutely love it! I had a sudden urge to throw myself out into the world to learn and experience different cultures.
What better way to meet new people and experience their way of life then staying on their couch right?
Interests
I really like cooking and baking. Nothing beats a night in with a glass of wine, some Marvin Gaye playing and cooking up a storm.
I have a pet Chihuahua named Rocket who is the cutest little thing. Yep I'm an animal lover!
I also like reading, gardening and going out!
I listen to all sorts of music, but I must admit my favourite would be 80's!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I like sleep in's, not really a morning person but It was a goal of mine to climb Mount Warning at the crack of dawn and make sunrise.
My boyfriend and I woke up at 3am and drove to the mountain, we got a little lost and it was freezing cold but that didn't stop us. It's a 4.6km hike to the top and we did it in an 1 hour 15minutes! It was the most beautiful sunrise!
