About Me

I graduated from college with a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and am a lover of comedy, music, art, nature, science, and good food.

I love to travel, be outside, and learn from the world. I am currently on a bike touring trip through Vermont and down the Hudson valley. It’s my first solo trip and I’m very excited to be on it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What better way to get to know a place than to stay with the people that live there?

Interests

I love performing and making people laugh. I am a huge music fan (classical, jazz, rock, you name it) and enjoy singing, and playing the guitar and flute. I am also a lover of the outdoors and like to hike, camp, and backpack as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some favorite movies include any Tarantino, any Coen Brothers, The Naked Gun, Young Frankenstein, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Paul Thomas Anderson, Richard Linklater, etc. I love movies, so the list goes on for way longer than you want to read. Some favorite bands/artists include lots of rock (Led Zeppelin, Bowie, The Clash, Pink Floyd, Stones, etc), folk, bluegrass, jazz (Esperanza Spalding, Jamie Cullum, Wes Anderson, Oscar Peterson, etc), newer indie stuff, classical, and Joni Mitchell. I love to read and love getting book recommendations from all kinds of folks. Some favorite books are East of Eden (anything by Steinbeck), The World According to Garp (anything by John Irving), We the Living, Milo 18, and Catch 22.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My partner and I lived out of our backpacks and trekked high and low through Patagonia for almost five months.
