About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing my memoir, motivationally speaking, teaching self-awareness. Revolution for change: Never Stop Evolving!

ABOUT ME

I am a creative, adventuresome person. Life has presented me with many hardships to overcome. I have learned to be grateful for those experiences and embrace adversity, as it has enabled me to grow. While traveling, I am finishing my book, and developing as a motivational speaker through Toastmasters. I have my degree in architecture so besides being a writer and motivational speaker I want to design architecture that teaches and enables people to live better. In years to come I look forward to building playful, imaginative architecture that will make all who see believe we all have the ability to be young at heart.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is a revolution for change: never stop evolving. Every day I strive to learn, question, reason, explore, create, and do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am traveling with my boyfriend. I do not have a couch to offer you now, though we would love to host people in the future. We are exploring, making friends, sharing our life experiences, promoting my soon to be released book, and enjoying the wonderful gift of life. I look forward to the next few months of traveling, in which I hope to learn, explore, and adventure as much as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is a brilliant idea for a website. We have had wonderful experiences, and met lovely interesting people!

Interests

Writing, architecture, law of attraction - what we think is what we are, psychology - any area interests me but I am particularly interested in the development of one's personality and the importance of encouragement and the harmful affects of abuse, spiritual healing through means of herbs, nature, human connection, and positive energy. I believe in learning as much as I can while here. I am developing as a motivational speaker to help others learn how to make the best of life, and know that they too hold the power to turn their dreams into their vision, and then their reality.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand. I think everyone should have to read it in school, as well as her philosophy should be the underlying basis for those wanting to teach generations to come how to live for yourself, and become a very successful person both finding happiness and purpose in life. Check out the documentary Ayn Rand and the Prophecy of Atlas Shrugged. It changed my life, and could change yours as well. PS I have met people who do not like Ayn Rand, on her defense, I would say this is because they did not understand her concept. She did not say selfishness is the best virtue. She said we should not be forced by anyone to feel it is good or beneficial for us in any way to harm ourselves as a price for helping others. Fill yourself up first, and your cup flows over helping many. (Think Oprah as an great example of this.) If you fail to fill yourself up, you will always struggle to get there, and eventually you will run yourself dry, helping no one, and killing yourself. This is the principles explained so beautifully in the documentary.

Other than Atlas Shrugged, I love many books, including Harry Potter series, The Hobbit, The Alchemist, etc.

Love movies of all kinds, especially movies that brighten the spirit or teach a lesson. Favorites include Yes Man, Dinner for Schmucks, Gladiator, any John Wayne movie, Robin Hood, Pineapple Express, Grandma's Boy, Dead Poets Society, The Harry Potter Films, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Despicable Me, Sword and the Stone, Wreck it Ralph, Alfred Hitchcock movies, classic films of all sorts, Halloween, and so many others about nature, society, people, architecture, literature, etc.

Documentaries I recommend are For the Bible Tells Me So, Credit Inc., Forks Over Knives ...

Shows I am enjoying at the moment as well as ones I will always love include: Walking Dead, Mad Men, Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Greys Anatomy, The Revolution, Bones, Workaholics, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Matlock, May to December, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I nearly died twice in 2008 in an automobile accident. My surgeons said they had never seen anyone with my injuries survive. Since my life has been a struggle I have learned to embrace, which lead me to writing a book, and becoming a motivational speaker as a way to help and inspire others.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learn something new from everyone I meet. But I really enjoy someone who challenges me to grow within myself because I see they too are seeking to do the same. I believe as human beings the eternal quest to find happiness is only found when we learn to appreciate the present and live knowing it is the process of creating yourself that makes every day one to be grateful for.
