Friendly, busy PhD student, like to meet new people and make new friends. Live with my boyfriend, James, so we are dual hosts hosting together.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not smart enough to have a personal philosophy, or maybe just not wise enough to realise what it is yet. I guess for now I'll keep it simple: "Smile!"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I lived alone, I tried to host loads in my teeny flat and I loved it! However, with my really busy schedule I have been a bit out of the loop so after just moving into a more couch-surfing-friend flat with my boyfriend, James, we would like to get back into hosting and meeting new people! Obviously, it's hard to do this as much as I would like, with my PhD and other commitments, but I absolutely love it when we find ourselves to have a spare weekend in Liverpool and get to share all the excitement it has to offer with new friends-to-be!

I spread the couch-surfing word and want to show people around Liverpool while I live here and perhaps have some people surf on my couch. I love meeting new people.

I would love to get involved with more meet ups with hosts and surfers in Liverpool, too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted quite a bit on my own when I lived in Liverpool city centre last year and I loved it! I surfed a couple of times, but nothing major. Plan to do some more, perhaps when James and I cycle coast to coast this Summer and maybe if we are lucky enough to get to go travelling around Asia next year.

I love meeting people that are on their travels. I have been travelling in the past, the odd weeks around Europe and 4 months in America including a cross-country trip.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading about Jack Reacher and his adventures. And any secret agent books, along these lines. I also, absolutely loved reading Last Light, by Alex Scarrow - I completely recommend this book to everyone. It makes you think.

I also adored the Earth Children's Series (starting with Clan of the Cave Bear) by Jean Auel. These are pretty magical and exciting and probably inspired my PhD choice (Evolutionary Psychology).

I love movies... all sorts. My boyfiend, James, has definitely opened my film viewing up to a genre of what I used to call 'arty farty' films which I very much enjoy, as well as the usual comedies and chick flicks!

Music - eclectic. I like listening to bands that haven't quite made it yet but are a bit Rock, alternative and a bit Indie. I love Wild Beasts - they are awesome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmm.... tough one, the most amaazing thing I have seen or done in my life time? I am hoping lots more is to come, but for now, getting up at 5am and climbing a moutain in North Wales in the snow and fog and just as I reached the Summit, the cloud cleared and I saw the most beautiful sunrise over Snowdonia National Park.

I don't have any specific skills, unfortunately. But I like to run races, and keep active and enjoy the outdoors. I would share any of these passions if anyone was interested.
