ABOUT ME

I am primarily a drummer/percussionist, but I also play piano, bass, and guitar. I currently live in Gainesville, Florida, USA where I have been teaching students on all of the above instruments for the past 3 years (www.studiopercussion.org). I have also been playing shows locally and regionally with a slew of bands for quite a while, including Voice of the People, Mindrise, the Legendary JCs, Uprooted, the Duppies, Soundpire, Africa2000, the Congo Bongo Binghi Boyz, the Babylonians, and Bahia Viva, to mention a few. I have been studying music intensively for 19 years. I have been performing for 15 years, performing professionally for 8 years.
I am extremely interested in drumset, djembe/african percussion, auxilliary percussion, and mallet instruments (i.e. vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, etc.). I am very into electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass, acoustic piano, electric keyboards, and organs.
I have professionally played Rock, Funk, Jazz, Classical, Hip-Hop, Traditional Percussion, Reggae, Ska, Soca and Latin music, as a drummer, percussionist, bassist, guitarist, and keyboardist. I also love music theory, composition, and song-writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

backpacked through Europe to West Africa for 3 and a half months, studied drumming and percussion in Mali and Cote d'Ivoire, where I lived with the locals. It was an amazing experience, with csers almost everywhere, all of whom were super cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I already teach music for my job (drumset, percussion, guitar, bass, piano). I also practice and play music. I also have some experience in T'ai Chi and meditation, and have studied politics and human rights, eastern religion, and philosophy. I also love to cook, and I love to eat what I cook!
