Hello there, and what a pleasure and honour it is to read each other's pages. My name is Tiana Marsden and I am on the pursuit of happiness! This is my 3rd big adventure being a solo backpacker from Vancouver, B.C., and websites such as this have changed my feelings about travelling being difficult and a bit nerve-wracking, into excitement and determination. I can't wait to discover and embrace the endless possibilities that are available!
In return for letting me stay in your lovely home, I offer any help I can in anything from cooking, cleaning, running errands, teaching yoga or even being your personal bartender.
I come from a construction background and bartend on the weekends back home. You could say I'm a "Jill-of-All-Trades". If there is anything you need help with I am more than willing to learn to help you out!
A few words I would use to describe myself would be humble, laid-back, down to earth and determined.I also got a good sense of humour so no need to watch that sort of thing around me!
The things that I have cherished the most throughout my life are the friends, memories and connections that I've made - no matter how big or small. Growing up in a small oceanside community called White Rock for 18 years of my life, I love being outside in nature and by the sea. I love living a simple life of enjoying the natural beauties of this world, by going for walks, hikes, having fires on the beach, and kayaking or canoeing around the lakes here in B.C.
This journey is one of the most important steps I will take in my life, and to share it with the world is worth a million more. To share my life, help and love with others whose paths I cross will bring us that much closer to the human destiny of peace, love, and understanding.

My hope is to connect with myself again and make friends on my journey through the UK for the next year. This is my 3rd time travelling and I am doing it solo so any tips and pointers from the locals are great! I will be making my way across the island going from town to town and appreciate any help navigating, making connections and gaining knowledge from the locals!
I am not here to judge or change you or your ways - I appreciate and accept we all do things differently and am more than willing to adapt and respect you and your home. I have always been a firm believer in the idea that home is what you make of it, and have always created my own positive space. I do not have posh expectations for living spaces at all. I am a minimalist and am more than happy to adapt, learn your way of living and what you do to keep your home running in its most functioning order - whatever that may be!
My flight lands on March 16th and want to begin in ireland as st. Paddy's day is right around the corner. I am very flexible with just a night or whatever works with your schedule!

Musica, film e libri

It's hard for me to pin point favorites when I'm a character who appreciates and enjoys so many genres of the arts. When it comes to music I'm all over the spectrum from listening to classical music to funk, metal , reggae, underground rap or R&B, industrial and classic rock. I love listening to the radio and discovering new music and listening to those good old classic rock hits. To me music is the biggest form of magic.

My taste in movies I find myself enjoying the old much more than the new that is coming out. Let's face it, Hollywood is running out of ideas! I love bizarre cult classics such as Donnie Darko , A Clockwork Orange, Fight Club or any David Lynch films. Basically any film that leaves you wondering what the heck you just watched or has multiple meanings keeping you guessing or changing your perspective and forces you to think outside the box is a thumbs up for me!

To be honest I wish I read more novels but I've always found myself drawn to biographies and short stories. Most of what I've read has been biographies on musicians , books about psychology and philiosophy or anything written by the unique mind of Hunter S. Thompson.

I would like to think everyday we all do something amazing in some way and together that makes for something amazing no matter how big or small! What may not seem like much now can always lead to something quite extraordinary. As time passes and we journey through life, it becomes more intense as we mature, discover and grow. What I can say is every moment leads up to the interesting lives we live, and the unique people we grow into. That is something we can all connect through and I think that's something pretty amazing.
For me personally I feel this trip I am about to endure is one of the most amazing things I've done with my life, and it's only the beginning! For a long time I was scared of my dreams to travel, especially alone. I procrastinated and doubted my abilities to go on my own, hoping a friend or significant other would be by side - only to end in disappointment and failed plans. My fear finally turned into love and determination, to push myself to live the life I want to be living. I've become my own best friend, and embrace the wonders of the world. To have the confidence to travel alone and know alone is only a state of mind and I have the ability to get through any of the hurdles life may throw at me.

To teach, learn and share with each other is what I strongly believe makes the world go round, not money. What's so silly about peace, love and understanding? The fact we live in a day in age where some may scoff at the idea is so unfortunate, and I can only hope that one day those people find it within themselves: peace, love and understanding so that we can share it with others.
Common courtesy and respect for others only makes sense to me. I treat people and things the way I would like to be treated, and if there is an interruption to this flow of simple respect I am a problem solver and communicator. I am a lover, not a fighter! I'd like to think most of us have been in enough situations in life to figure out that you get better results with a open hand and open mind then a clenched fist, and a closed mind.

Aside from all the stories and soon to be memories, I am sure we both can share about our walks through life, I would like to share any talents, skills and knowledge that may be beneficial to you - or just simply enjoyed during the time we spend together. I have worked a wide variety of jobs such as bartending , construction, janitorial services, retail , sales and promotions, making me very versatile in the kind of help I can offer. During my free time I enjoy the gym/ yoga, writing lyrics, thrifting, hiking, festivals and well just checkin out places I've never been before! I am a self taught make up artist which ties into some free lance modeling I have done. So whether it's helping you fix something, clean the house or make you a drink I am more than happy to help in any way I can!
