About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To deepen my self-awareness and learn to help people find their way to wholehearted lives. Also, to see all the live music I can, administer excellent hugs and share wine with new friends.
ABOUT ME
I am a mom to two, advisor to many and hell bent on living a full life. Once a month I host concerts in my home that range from solo songwriters to 5-piece bluegrass bands and anything in between. I am also a Rotarian, co-founding an arts-focused Rotary Club in 2009. Recently I launched Big Bravely, a company offering life coaching, counseling, workshops and online media on the topic of living your life bravely.
PHILOSOPHY
Here are quotes that resonate with me:
"There is so much about my fate that I cannot control, but other things do fall under the jurisdiction. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I can read and eat and study. I can choose how I'm going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life-whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts." ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
"Decide what to be and go be it." ~ The Avett Brothers
"What we know matters but who we are matters more.” ~ Brené Brown
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand-new to this site but think I certainly have the adventurous and open spirit compatible to the Couchsurfing community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have any Couchsurfing experience but I am often a host for touring musicians. I'd guess I've shared my home with 20 or so musicians for one or two nights over the last couple of years.
Interests
Music (live and recorded), food, reading, wine and conversations. I'm a huge fan of the work of Brene Brown and Eckhart Tolle. I do spent a lot of time interacting on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I especially love the latter as I've dabbled in photography for the last 15 years.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The Punch Brothers, Patty Griffin, Glen Hansard, Ellis Paul, Laura Marling, Matt Nathanson, Ben Howard, Bear's Den, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Blind Pilot (and 500 others)
Movies: Once, Dirty Dancing, The Notebook (and anything else that make me feel feelings. I don't watch a lot of movies, honestly. I'm an internet surfer and concert goer, mostly.)
Books: The ones have stayed with me the most are The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver; Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert; Daring Greatly by Brene Brown; Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing? Geez...I've seen so much and tend to get excited about everything I'm involved it. A recent awesome moment was attending the Newport Folk Festival alone...it was the biggest solo trip I've taken and a bucket-list musical experience. I met lots of the performers (and subsequently booked one), had fun conversations with fellow folk music nerds and ate fantastic fresh seafood. I stood in the July drizzle listening to Thao Nyguyen & the Get Down Stay Down whilst enjoying my first ever lobster roll. Music to my right, a bay full of sailboats to my left and that feeling of being exactly where I should be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to make REALLY KILLER toffee from scratch. I can tell you all about how to host concerts in your living room. I have about 5 years of professional experience in social media and am happy to share anything I know about digital storytelling.
