About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Graduate

ABOUT ME

I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of Congress.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe in an afterlife. I think we only have 80 odd years to do things. Therefore, enjoy everything.

Most things in Ecclesiastes I agree with. Except the last lines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently returned from travels abroad where I was hosted by so many awesome people. I'm eager to open my home and social life to whomever wants to hang in Ste. Annes and talk about things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very little. I met one interesting person in Jerusalem. We had some great hummus and toured about. I've also hosted a great group of guys doing a triathalon.

Interests

Bread, biking, camping, edible plants, books, making things, and the kibbutz movement.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jazz - Duke, Louis Armstrong, Monk, Mingus, Coltrane
Harry Potter, the Godfather, whatever I'm reading.
The last movie I really liked was Ratatouille. I got more attached to those characters than most of the ones I encounter in movies for grown-ups.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once camped on top of Mount Royal with a friend of mine in two fall sleeping bags in the middle of February. The sun was shining through the trees when we woke up after a long night of cold and owl hooting. I did not believe that I was in a city at all. The view from the chateau was incredible. Sunrise.

Teach, Learn, Share

Baking whole wheat, imitation French, and Challah breads.
Symbolic and religious aspects of Challah.
A host of trivia.
