About Me
Hodophile, nature lover, multipotentialnite, balanced optimist & outdoorsy gal

TO STAY WITH ME:
* PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CONTENT AND ACCEPT THE TERMS BEFORE ASKING ME TO HOST YOU
If you visit in Hong Kong is mostly about partying and shopping, I’m glad for you but please forget me and look for somewhere else. I believe CS is more than just offering you a free place to stay.
1. Follow "Leave No Trace” discipline. Clean up your mess before you move on to another place in the apt. If you are either dirty or inconsiderate, please look for somewhere else to stay. These are my pet peeves. No leeway~
2. Please check 'My Home' section to have more info about my place and what to expect.
3. I am pretty busy during the week, so I prefer surfers who can explore the town on their own without my company. Yet, I am happy to give you information about where and what to do in Hong Kong. If you come during weekends, we can go for a hike, a drink, or plan something fun to do (mostly outdoor sports). Occasionally, I will go sea kayaking with the meet up group. You are welcome to join me, but the group requires you to have some prior training or solid kayaking skills/experience before joining us for safety reason.
4. My roommate and I both need to work up early for work during weekdays. Please keep your volume down after 11pm.
5. Due to my work schedule, I can only host surfer for 2-3 days. A higher chance of accepting a request staying between Thu and Sun.
6. You will have to leave the place with me when I'm not at home. Usually, I'm out by 9am during weekdays. Anyway, getting ready by 9am is just the perfect timing to check out the city.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*****Due to the high amount of unsolicited requests I receive, I will ALWAYS and ONLY REPLY TO MESSAGES WHICH FOLLOW THE 3 STEPS BELOW: (So if you don't hear from me, don't ask me why. Do your homework:P )
1. Address the request message's attention to “Sherbear ”
2. Tell me why you want to stay with me
3. Tell me one book you read that changed your life or inspired you. If you don’t read, share your most embarrassing thing you did thus far. Usually I find it easier to start an open conversation with people who are willing to share the worst with others (at least it is important for me to know you are willing to make connection:) )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Met some awesome folks who are in CS by chance and the generosity given in CS community moved me, so here I am! To spread and nurture the beauty of sharing and generosity.
Joseph Campbell said what we're seeking is an experience of being alive rather than seeking a meaning of life. And CS opened a door for me experiencing this .

Music, Movies, and Books
I just love movies, from comedy to thriller, to mind-fuck, to action, to sci-fic, as long as they tell a good story or entertain me.
TV Show: Westworld, Louie, House of cards, The Late Show with Steven Colbert..... I know I spent so much time on watching TV and I should stop here
My recent favorite book: Child 44 trilogy by Tom Rob Smith
My music taste is based on my mood. I like all kinds of music, except country and white noise.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I will save this one until we meet in person. Vivid expression is worth a thousand words when you brag about your glory.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can cross something off my never-ending bucket list together, so we learn and share or even teach each other in a way and make history together.
If I host you, I can bring you to hike on some offbeat trails or give you some insider info of exploring Hong Kong.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My dry humor, my two cents about the universe & my experimental culinary ( I don't guarantee it tastes amazing every time, but I guarantee there is no food poisoning and trying something new is always a joyful experience)
I am also a marketing enthusiast. I am aware that many people deem marketing is evil, luring people to buy shit they don't need. But marketing is like other inventions. How we use it determines whether it is good or harmful for the society. So I am happy to share what I learn and hope you can maximize the goodness of marketing in your own way.
Besides, it is fascinating to understand how our human mind can be influenced in many nuance ways (P.S. Thinking Fast & Slow is a good book for beginner to understand how our mind works)
