Getting ready to take the trip of a lifetime with my daughter, Yna! Like her, I love adventures. Love experiencing new things and meeting new people.

We are a lot alike in our travel desires. Favorite parts of going to new places?? The outdoors, the culture, flea markets, pubs. We love board games and great films. Good music. We have been told that we are a lot of fun to have around!

I consider myself to be quite liberal, and sometimes take a stand for the rights of others. I love children and pets. I am polite, gracious, and accepting, and I love great conversation and laughter.

I married the love of my life a year ago, and we are blissfully happy most of the time. Leaving him at home will be difficult.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My daughter does a lot of traveling, and she told me all about CS. It sounds like a great way to travel, and also to help other people.

I love to help others, so it is kind of a no-brainer.

Interests

Music, outdoors (especially beaches and bodies of water), books, movies, computers, travel (of course), playing (pool, foosball, ping pong, video games, softball, hiking, backgammon). I am a board game freak.

I visited many European countries with a marching band many moons ago, and am looking forward to seeing them once more, through different eyes.

Jumped off a cliff during a rafting trip on class V rapids.

Performed the role of Mother Abess in Sound of Music (yeah, Climb every Mountain and all that)
Performed supporting lead roles in Don Giovanni, Lucia di Lammermoor, Cavelleria Rusticana, La Traviata, and Il Trovatore, either in New York or Washington DC.

An English teacher shared this quote with me over 30 years ago. It takes on new meaning as I journey through life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am gregarious and generous. I am an open book, but also reflective. I can offer my experience, my enjoyment of life, the opportunity to peruse the city, and also, a beer at your finest pub.
