ABOUT ME

quote from my wife: "I CouchSurfed when I was single, I CouchSurfed with my husband, and I CouchSurf with my baby!"
I was born in Iran, grew up in Australia, and now I'm back-packing the world with my Filipino wife and baby!

I love meeting many different types of people, from quiet people to crazy people! I'm good at getting along with most people, and I like to have fun at all times, whether I'm at work or at play :-) I'm not scared of too many things and am willing to try basically anything for a laugh!

PHILOSOPHY

History is full of countries fighting wars against each other, and even today, the governments of some countries are still trying to fight wars with each other. But globalization + cheap flights + world-wide internet is finally letting people from all around the world to see each other as fellow humans instead of enemies.

I think internet has been excellent at bringing countries together. For example, you don't see websites that are only available to people of one country, but before the internet, countries did not want to share information with each other!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people and shown some people around or given advice on the region, but mainly I've met lots of cool people through CouchSurfing, and I want to do more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've crashed on many couches with CS and hosted many people as well, but more importantly I've made tonnes of friends in Europe and Asia and South America through the CouchSurfing groups! I've been to an anarchist party and an underwear party in Greece, was filmed on TV at an Erasmus party in Spain, visited many temples & shrines in Indonesia, all because of CS.

And as funny as it sounds, I met my wife through CS! I shown her around town when we were both working in the Arabian Desert, and after becoming friends for a while we eventually quit our jobs to travel South-East Asia together and then got married in Philippines! Now we have a baby and we have been couchsurfing around the whole world as the 3 of us :-)

So CouchSurfing has definitely changed my life!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trust me, I've got lots of crazy stories, but here is a good one:

When I was 7 years old, my 50 year old babysitter tried to secretly kidnap me and my little brother, because she didn't have any children of her own. After a few hours I realised what was happening and secretly called the police and acted normal for an hour until we were rescued. The policeman punched her in the face!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an expert in electronics & computers (and have built several robots) so I have fixed computer problems for some of my CS hosts :-) I have a free website with many highly technical tutorials that has been visited more than 300,000 times from people all around the world that are trying to learn things from me for free.
