Overview
About Me
I am stepping outside my comfort zone and travelling to a part of the world that I have dreamed of for years. I have graduated my Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management studies. My experiences and adventures around the world made me decide to do this. I think my family have decided I have become a free spirit and ready to take on the world regardless of hiccups.
I believe in pay it forward. In the time of arriving back in NZ from two and a half months couchsurfing around the Caribbean in the middle of January until I started studying in mid February 2019 I hosted 8 surfers.
Now I have graduated and moved to Taupo I have had my first three lovely surfers and more to come soon.
I am a vegan, I do not mind meat being cooked around me or by me.
One thing I do ask, please don't ask to be my friend unless either of us has been hosted or surfed together. Thanks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing to get local area knowledge from local people when I'm travelling and when in NZ paying it forward and hosting, showing my surfers the area I live in. I want to see the areas that tourists may not go or know about. I am a culture seeker and unfortunately sometimes more adventurous than a lot of tourists.
Music, Movies, and Books
I really love the sound of drumming music otherwise I listen and enjoy whatever music I hear. There is a right place and a right time for most. I am looking forward to hearing new music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya for 5 weeks with 185 children. We had no running water, power for only half of the day, ate with our hands and lively very poorly and very happily. I have never seen 185 smiles all at once before.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would say teach. I am an avid volunteer, customer service team member in a local resort reservations department, I show humanity, confidence and promotion of my local area.
I love to learn about new cultures although too much in at once can be lost.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will enjoy sharing about New Zealand and it's beauty and culture. I will also share about the exciting places I have been to also. On my days off from work I am trying to go to a new adventure around the Taupo to pass the knowledge on.
