ABOUT ME

I would describe myself as friendly, good natured, and always up for an adventure! I really love people which is even shown by my profession (mental health counselor) and I'm fascinated by the human mind, psychology, what makes us who we are.  I work with the mentally ill population so I am really interested in travelling to see how other cultures approach mental health.  I want to learn from shamans, medicine men, and counselors alike!  Other than that, I enjoy philosophical conversation, but not so much political debate.  I love different cultures, foods, and learning new things about myself and others.  My dream/mission is to fall so in love with life that it just pours out of me for the betterment of the world! In other words I want to "be the change".

PHILOSOPHY

I do my best to live life being honest to myself, one.  And honest to everyone else.  This means being an authentic person. I believe in "being the change" I want to see in the world.  There is nothing more powerful than being a positive example of love and peace if that's what you want to see in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music lover from afro beat and deep house to alternative and folk.  Anything that moves me, feet or heart. Not a huge movie watcher, but I do like movies that make me laugh, cry, or think. Some faves are Revolutionary Road, The Joy Luck Club, and Trading Places.  I love to read..anything about spirituality, philosophy, astrology, psychology, the brain, science, metaphysics.  Faves - You Can Heal Your Life, Of Water and the Spirit, The Alchemist, The Female Brain, Brave New World.

My only trade is excellent listening skills and the ability to make someone feel accepted, cuz they are!  I want to learn more about technology (I have enough skills to get by, but I would like to get much better), and the history and culture of various places around the world.  I would like to learn especially about the mental health institutions and practices around the world.
