About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mejorando mi Espanol en Madrid

ABOUT ME

I am very bad with structure and monotony.Extremely outgoing, I am constantly exploring whether that be locations, people, or ideas. I tend to climb things. I'm fun, curious, and creative yet at times my engineering/techincal side comes out. I build, sometimes not all the way, but I am getting better at it. I know that I have a distinct purpose and direction for my life which is driving me to see as much of this planet possible. When I sit down and think about it, really it is PEOPLE which is my central motivation for the things I do (and don't do). Honestly I feel that there has been a degradation of great men in this world and I aspire to be like those who have come before me whose values, life codes, and at times insane idealisms paved the way for vast and rapid Progress. I appreciate and am a student of Philosophy....but I'm in university for engineering among other things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had the pleasure of staying with people in South America and Spain, meeting up at CS events in the Netherlands, and I'm looking forward to being able to return the favor and host as soon as I'm set up in a good location.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While in Colombia I was thrown into my CS experience without fully knowing until we were there! Turns out a friend of our host had a BEAUtiful coffee farm which we were all invited to. Gorgeous views, fresh fruit, and a tremendous experience. I cannot wait to make more!

Interests

Parkour has really become a central part of my life recently. The outlook and lessons one can learn from practicing this Art are incredibly profound, not to mention:

The purely physical improvements one experiences.
Confidence in oneself morally and spiritually
Ability to train effectively to solve problems.
Creativity.
Vision, which changes the way we view our world from what things seem to what they can be.
Health.
A deeper connection to the environment, both natural and urban.
Resilience and Fortitude.

as just a few aspects of what dedicated training in Parkour can open a person to. Although PK currently is where I spend a fair portion of my time outside of my studies, it is not my only interest or even my largest really, but because of its Nature every other aspect of life can be seen or improved through the mindset one cultivates through training.

Readin':
which was once only done for pleasure, for a good story to entertain my imagination, has opened to include books which aim to say something about life either through philosophical, technical, or other mediums. Writing is one of the most distinctive ways in which we can understand Ideas, so reading for me has become more about seeing what other people think.

Music:
Always an important part of my life, and has helped me learn about who I am. Jazz, Funk, Hip-hop, R&B, Soul and any combination of these is really where my beat lies however I appreciate and love any beautiful music as well.

Learning:
Instead of blindly following predefined paths, patterns or degree tracts, learning/education has become a conscience effort now. In order to develop a strong and useful base of Knowledge, I aim to learn from many different sources.

Conversation:
An aspect and Art of American and even 21st century life which is slowly becoming more obscure and fractured due to increasingly more impersonal ways to communicate. I find it extremely difficult to find people who understand the semantics of conversation but when I do we learn so much from each other!

Cooking:
Currently an interest in progress, feel free to give tips, I desperately need them! Training for food...

Photography:
Another way that my view of the world has forever changed. I walk through and notice angles, shading, shadows and light, colors, framing, textures, and tons of other things I never would have before. It creates a certain Awareness.

More as they come to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running naked into the beach off of Frasier Island at night with a group of awesome people and discovering my footsteps glowed like magic because of the bio-luminescent algae; immediately afterward chasing a dingo through the woods.

Climbing on top of a bridge at midnight in Brisbane to see the full moon better.

Watching two sunrises in a row (almost three) from the engineering building.

Drinking milk straight from a goat, milking and getting pooped on by a cow, and riding a donkey into a tree all in one day in Colombia.

Playing soccer with the local kids in a small village in El Salvador without needing to say or understand a single word of Spanish.

Seeing the dinosaur footprints in Broome, Australia

Visiting the Bone Chapel in Kunta Hora, Czech Republic

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACHING:
I am far enough along in my training that I am comfortable teaching at least the basics (history, philosophy, training methods/conditioning, techniques) of Parkour to anyone interested however, I largely still consider myself a student.

I also am an Electrical Engineer so I suppose I at least have some technical knowledge from my 5 years at Uni that some poor bum would be interested in learning about!

I also can teach you the guitar (basic and jazz chords/styles), film photography (not the developing part quite yet), how to snowboard, how to do that one poker chip trick the bad guy does in Casino Royale, how to TRAVEL, and how to LOVE LIFE!

LEARNING:

I'm always looking to improve my landings and rolls.

I want to:
continue learning Spanish and become fully fluent in the next two years.

learn to cook to a point where my food is actually tasty.

learn to be more organized!

learn more Economic Theory

master the split, handstand, and sideflip

learn more Salsa turns

learn more about YOU!

Countries I’ve Visited
