ABOUT ME

We´re a long-term couple who are, at this very moment, not cruising the world :(

We had a great time overseas, and now we're back in Melbourne (have been since January, actually). For details of our adventures, please visit: shevastravels.blogspot.com (it's still in the process of being updated).

We are extremely busy at the moment so we cannot accommodate Couchsurfers at the present time. But watch this space!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We´re looking forward to meeting people from different countries while we´re on the road, and having a more "real" experience of the places we visit. Soon, we hope to be able to return the favour to members of the CS community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have Couchsurfed a bit and love it so far - and we hope we've been tolerable guests!

Interests

Shayne: Music (metal and rock specifically), playing guitar, reading, travelling, science, microbial ecology, politics, astronomy, bludging (not to be confused with bludgeoning!)

Eva: Reading, dancing (particularly bellydancing), animals (particularly dogs!), children, travelling, languages, history, being with friends

Music, Movies, and Books

Shayne´s music: BIG DREAM THEATER FAN! Other stuff includes pretty much anything with an electric guitar and dirty loud distortion, except nu-metal, most metalcore (Trivium can eat me...) and that ridiculous genre "emo". Also likes old school rap. He's in to bands - check out the MySpace of one of them: myspace.com/leftofcrazy

Eva likes a range of music, including Nick Cave, Tex Perkins, Leonard Cohen, Ani Difranco, Crowded House...yeah, the list just goes on!

In addition, we both enjoy a diverse range of styes like jazz, latin, blues, soul, some classical...etc etc.

We´re a both huge British comedy fans: Blackadder, Black Books, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf and the like. Our opinions of ´Allo ´Allo differ, however: Shayne loves it, Eva...not so much.

Shayne´s favourite reading: generally fast-moving stuff by authors like Richard Laymon, Dean Koontz, and other thrillers. He´s recently started reading more non-fiction, and likes reading science authors such as Jared Diamond, Richard Dawkins, and Stephen Jay Gould, to name a few.

Eva generally likes more character-focussed novels. She is a fan of a lot of English classical literature. Books she has recently enjoyed include
Margaret Atwood´s "The Blind Assassin" (which Shayne also loved!), Neville Shute´s "On The Beach", and Ben Elton´s "The First Casualty".
