CURRENT MISSION
Diana: researcher on music, PhD - Tobias: forest engineer and wood crafter
ABOUT US
Hey dear Couchsurfers,
we are Tobias and Diana from Southern Germany,
Tobias (33) is a passionate forest engineer working in the woods of a biosphere reserve in Bavaria. Mostly he deals with sustainable management, natural conservation and ecotourism. Because of a very high population of hoofed game in our reserve, problems with the natural rejuventation of the forests ocure, so that hunting is also one of his tasks. Besides his work he loves chainsaw carving and carpent unic woodcraft. Visit his homepage www.heavywood.org and you will find out more about him and his work. Since a trip through Western Australia he's playing the didgeridoo, which he really enjoys.
Tobias and me live a simple life very close to nature. Together with our dogs Billy and Lilly we live in a former farmhouse heating with firewood and enough space for growing veggies, having fruit- and nuttress and keeping chickens. Oh yes, and of course not to forget, since a few months we also host the little wild boar Odin, which lost his mother in August 2015.
I grew up in a forester setting as well. I like to maintain our self-catering garden, where we grow all kinds of vegetables, herbs etc. in the spring/summer season as well as different types of cole, radish and wintersalads in the cold season. I'm very interested in every kind of permaculture projects. Besides that I have a horse, I love cooking and my addictions are music and traveling.
I'm a researcher on music (ethnomusicologist) with the focus on community music therapy and the healing potentials of music. I'm also a musician myself and I'm very interested in native musics.
Through couchsurfing we would love to meet people following the same passions of nature and music, having Jam Sessions, nice talks, good food and make new friends.
I was on hospitalityclub.org and hosted a lot of people at my house in Spain and in Frankfurt until 2010 but it seems now hospitalityclub.org is nearly dead so we're here now :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
we are hosting a wild boar in our garden ;)
And I love to combine traveling and researching on music, playing with people from all over the world and make recordings out of the sessions! Besides all kind of sustainable lifestyle stuff, that's the most beautiful thing for me to do :)
Tobi is carving really unique woodcraft - take a look at his website.
