ABOUT ME
After spending over 15 months travelling and working abroad; I worked as a Scuba Diving Dive Master in Madeira for a summer season, taught english conversation lessons at the University of Colima, in Mexico for 9 months and then decided to go travelling for 1 month in Colombia and 2 months in Brazil;I've now settled down to life in London.
I have just finished a degree in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at Southampton University. Whilst travelling and living abroad I had some amazing CS experiences and I hope that I give other people the same CS experiences I had.
PHILOSOPHY
Everything happens for a reason, or at least you can always find a reason for something happening...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When I first found out about CS, like many people I thought it was a great way to save some money when travelling, but the more I get involved, the more I realise that this aspect is just one of the surface advantages. The cultural exchange is much more important for me, and the ability to meet people who have the same interests all over the world is truely amazing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My surfing experience...
April 2009 - Jaime Ruiz Ibarra, Los Mochis, Mexico
July 2009 - Vahine, Cartagena, Colombia
July 2009 - David and Martha, Bogota, Colombia
July 2009 - Camila Alves, Fortaleza, Brazil
August 2009 - Sergio P De O E Souza, Vitoria, Brazil
August 2009 - Marcio C Galvao, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Dec/Jan 09/10-Eduardo Canastra, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Apart from the obvious times I have spend with my hosts, there is no doubt that CS became a big part of my life, especially when I was in Rio. The people I met while I was there really did make my experience in Brazil the best it could have been and I can't wait until I go back again soon!

Music, Movies, and Books
Looking at my bookshelf at the moment, it is still full of language and grammar books, history and politics books from Latin America, literature in all different languages and a lot of dictionarys, however when I'm not having to read these for my studies I enjoy reading books that make me think.
I like all kinds of music, and anything I can dance to, especially latin; salsa, regetton, cumbia and banda! I have to say, after spending a long time in Mexico, I also now have a new found love for the Beatles!
Films wise I like most but really not horror, and I hate to watch films which are too sad, cos I will cry no matter how much I try not to.
