Hi, everyone! I’m Shih-Da世達, I’m from Taiwan台灣.
I’m currently doing exchange in Cologne, I’m actually not quite sure if that’s possible to host you in dormitory, however I always welcome to meet new people, so just don’t hesitate to text me when you come visit Cologne!😃

During my time in Germany, I eager to know more people from all over the world, get to know different cultures and philosophies. And share mine to you as well.

Hmmm I don’t really know where to start talking about myself, I was born in another island next to Taiwan, called Penghu, it’s absolutely a beautiful heaven, then I grew up in Taipei city, basically a city boy with fisherman background, then got my bachelor degree in art history in the south of Taiwan, Tainan. And now I’m studying prevention of sport injuries as my master degree, I know, they are total different field, but I love studying them both.

I’m always up to explore something new, and try to build something from the old, during my exchange in Germany, I organized a lunar new year event, to show internationals how we celebrate new year in east Asia, working with other internationals from China, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam, and modified the traditions for all the internationals can have fun with us! And I so much love it!

I love Taiwan very much, I’ve been to many places in Taiwan, so I know this island well.
If you feel like to know more about my island, just simply ask me anything, I’ll do my best to give you the most sincere answer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to invite the world, when I was in Taiwan. Now since I’m abroad, I want to break all those stereotypes though travels and meeting different people.

Interests

I like almost all kinds of sports, especially tennis. And I would say I’m quite good at it.

I also enjoy doing outdoors activities such as surfing, mountaineering, river tracing. I’d like to try paragliding and rafting.
I love high ground, I can visit those places watching night views, feeling cities.

Apart from the outdoor stuff, I love to read, visit museums for art and history.
Sometimes, when I feel lazy, I can spend my all day, watching tv series, movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding a scooter around Taiwan by myself, came across an eagle gliding next to me.

I was an armored car driver in the army, ran multiple exercises in it, it’s hard to say it’s amazing, but special for sure.

Rode a ordinary city bike(which made me regret the most😅) from Maastricht back to Cologne, it’s probably nothing to many of you, but I’m from an island, I’ve never cross the border with bike! It’s definitely a cool experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Mandarin, and maybe tennis.

I’d like to learn more about architectures, languages, coding, photography and anything about you or your country.

Story in the army, history and every night view spot in Taipei!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’m a good listener, flexible but also with disciplined manner, always enjoy spending time and good conversation. I hope my cooking skills could reach some certain level soon to offer, but at the moment, I don’t want you to get sick.
