About Me

I'm working as an English teacher to save up money for my travels, which I absolutely love to do (the travelling part, not the working part). I am inquisitive and love to learn about cultures. I think the best way to experience a town is to be led by someone who is native and passionate about their city, as they can surely show me things no tour guides ever could.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My first CS experience happened before I even had an account on CouchSurfing. A friend invited me to an outing in my city while I was home for the summer. There were about 10 people in our group, from all kinds of places I dreamed of visiting. We all went out for an authentic Vietnamese dinner, and to a party after. The best part was just being able to talk to so many people from all over the world and share experiences and opinions. I fell in love with the idea of CouchSurfing, so here I am.

Interests

I love movies and books. I can talk all days analyzing all kinds of flicks and discussing my favorite book at the moment.
Cooking is a huge hobby of mine, so I would love to be able to learn from my hosts if they cook.
And of course, travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorites change over time. As of June 2016:
- My favorite song is Sting's "Englishman in New York" and Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling"
- My favorite movie is "Avengers," and it has been for four years.
- My favorite books at the moment are Murakami Haruki's "1Q84" and George Orwell's "1984" (they are completely unrelated).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped off a cliff (though I'm not sure if it could even be called that) in a place call Garden of Eden in Santa Cruz, California. Hit my back on a rock because I did not jump far out enough. But I did not suffer any serious injury hahaha ~

What I Can Share with Hosts

Jokes are a hard thing to share, because humor is very culturally based, but I hope I can make the host smile.
I can also share what little I know about Vietnamese cuisine, and a lot of classic American recipes.

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States, Viet Nam
