About Me

Traveling trough Japan for a few months 🇯🇵

I’m hoping to get to know many fellow travelers, locals, and everyone in between :)
I’m especially interested in culture and unique places with personal stories. If you have any tips on what I should visit, I’d love to hear them. I don’t have anything planned out, so I’m open for (almost) anything :D

I come from the Netherlands, where I finished my bachelor in Artificial Intelligence last year and I’ll start my (pre)master Robotics next year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This seems like the perfect way to get more involved in the culture of the country you’re visiting; meeting enthusiastic locals who are willing to share their ins and outs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite artists (and their best song); The Red Hot Chili Peppers (The Zephyr Song), Kings of Leon (The Immortals), Arctic Monkeys (505), the Strokes (Life is Simple in the Moonlight), Radiohead (Jigsaw Falling Into Place).
My favorite book is The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, and the (very close) runner up is Acid For The Children by Flea (I very much like the RHCP ;) ). Currently I’m reading a Dutch book about breathing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’m very bad at making these kinds of choices :/ I couldn’t name one thing

Teach, Learn, Share

Obviously I can try to teach some Dutch (but be warned, our grammar has more exceptions than rules….). Moreover, I have quite some knowledge on Artificial Intelligence, which includes (a lot of) programming, maths, neuroscience, and some linguistics, psychology and philosophy. I can imagine not everyone is as interested in this as I am (I am very very interested in it), but I also have plenty travel stories to share, and am always interested in your stories.
