Chi sono

Update July 2023: I am going to be travelling for a year and then will start looking for my own place to fianlly start hosting again!

-------------------------------------------

Still living in Leicester with family at the moment so can't host but happy to meet up in Leicester! Hoping to get my own place in the next few years so looking forward to hosting again soon!

I've officially moved away from London. Which I'm sad about. But, you are welcome to surf with me in Leicester in my family home:)

--------------

What happened to the days when we would walk 5 miles to save a buck and reward ourselves with a beer at the end of the day?

I think the most important thing in life is learning to understand each other (by sleeping on their sofas- sorry, couches).

Love meeting new people and learning about other peoples cultures. I am very open minded and love chatting!

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

My New Year's resolution in 2015 was to visit a new city every month, this inspired me originally to join couchsurfing, and I've never looked back! My passion is to travel the world, with limited time at the moment I am starting small, but I've always been interested in finding things that are "off the beaten track" and hate busy tourist spots, and I need CS hosts to show me these places and give me an idea of what their city is really about.

I like to really experience a place, and the best way is sharing time with someone who lives there. I have met some amazing people on this site and made friends for life, I love comparing similarities and differences with people from around the globe and meeting travelers really adds something special to my life that not a lot of people get to experience.

Interessi

Chilling, medicine, eating, drinking, walking, exploring new places, tea, museums and art galleries, coffee shops and wrapping presents.

Fields of sunflowers.

Good conversation and silence.

Putting on my PJs and warm fluffy socks, cuddled up in bed with hot chocolate listening to the rain pouring outside.

And...

Skydiving

Musica, film e libri

Most music, currently love "I got life" by Nina Simone. My favourite movie is Hairspray, absolutely love musicals! Some of my avourite books are Rohinton Mistry's A Fine Balance, the book of lost things and the geography of bliss

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Did my 'One Second A Day' project where I took a second long video everyday for over a year.

I was stuck on a mountain road in pitch darkness with some travelers I met (motorbiking in Vietnam) so I decided it was too unsafe to continue and asked a local family if we can sleep outside their house (only had the confidence to do this after my experiences with couchsurfing) so we spent the night playing cards with the kids and sleeping under the stars. Also, a lizard died near my head and I had ants crawling all over me all night. Apparently, in some cultures, people keep dead lizards near them for protection, so many the old lady inside wanted to protect us!

Crashed an e-bike into my hostel owners car, he drove me to a cash point to pay for the damage and then apologised for shouting at me and gave me a free tour in Bagan, Myanmar in his cousin's Mercedes car. It was my birthday.

Visited Transnistria (an unrecognised country in Moldova). Stayed in a monestery here for 2 nights.

Spoken to people in parts of the world who have never seen an Indian before. I found this pretty amazing.

Performed CPR on someone who lived.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

Knowledge about the things I love and a fun companion. As I can't cook, I am an expert in washing up the dishes after meals, which I believe could be a great asset!

UPDATE 2023: I grew up and I can cook now!
