ABOUT ME

Hello, I am a young molecular biologist currently finishing off my PhD in Vancouver, Canada. For a sense of what I do you can check this video out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuy5A8_yPwA). This is my first experience with CouchSurfing and I'm kicking myself for not knowing about it earlier. What an amazing idea! I'm going to be in Europe for a conference soon but I gave myself a couple weeks off to explore, travel, and familiarize myself with interesting new cultures. I'm a pretty easy going guy and am always the first to try new things. I am quite an active person too so it would be an absolute bonus if I can find a hiking or running buddy through this to really get a sense of the scenery of where I'm at. I am really looking forward to meeting you!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy can be summed up through the poem, IF.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined this and am currently travelling at the moment. However, once I'm back I'd be happy to have guests in Vancouver once I move into my new place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Other than crashing at a friends or relatives place this is completely new to me.
